Skin and ear problems in pets can be complex, persistent and frustrating—for both you and your vet. If your pet is still struggling despite previous treatment, a second opinion with us can make all the difference. Your first opinion vet does not just treat pets with skin disease but a huge variety of diseases as well as offering preventative care. We only treat pets with skin, paw and ear disease and do this day in and day out. At Cheshire Veterinary Dermatology, we welcome second opinion cases and take the time to review everything thoroughly and get to the bottom of these problems.
Ingrid is an RCVS recognised Advanced Practitioner in Veterinary Dermatology. This means that after qualifying as a veterinary surgeon, a further exam was done to obtain the Certificate in Veterinary Dermatology. As well as having more knowledge and experience, it also ensures that the knowledge is kept up to date.
Bernie is an RCVS Diploma Dermatology nurse with lots of experience having worked alongside many Dermatology Specialists.
Our second opinion consultations last up to an hour and include a full review of your pet’s history, a detailed examination, and discussion of any previous test results or treatments. We will then recommend the most appropriate next steps—whether that is further diagnostics, a revised treatment plan, or simply reassurance.
You can contact us for a second opinion for the purpose of seeking the view of another veterinary surgeon, but this will be a consultation only. We do not seek to take over the care from your primary veterinary surgeon and aim to work in collaboration.
We bring years of dermatology experience and advanced knowledge to cases that may benefit from a fresh set of eyes.
We are not here to replace your regular vet—we are here to support you both. We believe in a collaborative approach to ensure the best outcome for every pet. We will only send a report to your vet on your request.
